https://secure.actblue.com/donate/beth-bronson-1A proud lifelong resident of rural Orange County, North Carolina and a graduate of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School System. When I attended UNC-Chapel Hill for a Bachelors of Arts, in Management and Society, I did so with a clear interest in the interaction of business, government and the political dynamics of our local area.
That academic focus led me to examine OWASA as a public-private partnership for my capstone research, where I learned how governance structures, accountability, and long-term planning affect a growing community. As a first time home-buyer at the height of the pandemic, I deepened my understanding of Orange County’s history and the systems that guide local decision making, reinforcing my belief that effective collaboration between government, residents and business is essential to responsible growth.
Volunteering on the Planning Advisory Board and quasi-judicial Board of Adjustments has given me a first-hand perspective on how policy shapes everyday life. Issues like zoning, watershed protection, and long term planning are personal and immediate concerns as a homeowner in our community – and great care for my neighbors who will face the same concerns as I do.
I want to invest my time and effort into Orange County, somewhere I’ve grown up and continue to make my home. I’m an ever-vigilant student of our policies and our people. My hope is to help shape the future of our community as your next County Commissioner for District 2!
